2 months agoMy stay here was slightly above average. To be honest, I was expecting a slightly better experience from one of Marriott’s more premium brands. For context I have stayed at almost all of Marriott’s brands from high end luxury, to their select brands. I am also a titanium elite member. The hotel itself is in a convenient location, but is outdated. The lobby area is nice, but the rooms and exterior could use a refresh. There were lots of rust spots on the metal finishes in the bathroom. Check-in was smooth, but the front desk worker did not seem like he wanted to be there. He acknowledged my elite status, and gave me a breakfast voucher as the concierge lounge is closed on the weekends. I was not offered a room upgrade, which was to be expected as this hotel is not a luxury brand and I booked through a third party. Breakfast at the restaurant was good and quite honestly, the best part of my stay. I had the pulled pork omelette. Our waiter, Wilson, was great. He was extremely polite and friendly. He is the only reason I am giving four stars overall instead of three. The Marriott website says parking is $10 a night, however, I was not charged for parking during my stay.

2 months agoI had a wonderful stay at this Marriott hotel from the time I checked in until the time I checked out. The hotel and lobby was warm and welcoming as you entered. The Bar had a good choice of cocktails, beers, and drinks that did not disappoint and the nightly crowd spoke to that. While I didn't get to experience the pool, it was absolutely gorgeous and well kept ( clean and appearance). The concierge lounge had wonderful employees every morning and evening who greeted you and helped you out every time you entered. The only downside to the lounge was the food/snacks in the afternoon and evening weren't great however there were plenty of drink choices ( this lounge is not 24/7 or weekends). House keeping was wonderful and cleaned the roomed and changed the towels daily. The room was decent but had some wear and tear to things such as the mirror peeling and office chair peeling but none the less the room was kept. Front desk was amazing and honored the 4PM late check out for platinum members and they don't charge for an early check out. If I return to Raleigh, I will definitely be coming back to the Marriott.

a month agoIn need of maintenance! I stayed three nights and every morning maintenance had to return to my room to repair the toilet because it had no water after flushing, the shower would not go to cool water… only warm water, the parking area is down a steep hill from the hotel entrance. My room’s refrigerator made popping noises all night long. I’m not saying I wouldn’t stay here again, it just will not be my go to when in the city.

2 weeks agoMarriott has, bar none, the worst customer care in the business. Have a problem? Good luck getting in touch with someone human. And when you do? Good luck getting a satisfying resolution. I’m a Marriott Bonvoy member and the perks are nonexistent. Other hotel brands are far more receptive. At the very least they’ll throw you a couple points for your troubles. Marriott? They’ll just tell you to go kick rocks. If I have a choice, I’ll pick a Hilton property any day.

a month agoIt wasn't the best experience. The coffee pot didn't work so they brought a second one, a barn door on the bathroom. We could hear everything each other was doing in the bath because of it. Only one closet door on a two closet door opening. Large comfortable bed. Nice TV. Pool water was too cold to swim in.
