My wife and I spent a weekend getaway here after attending a wedding. The hotel is absolutely stunning and the amenities very nice. The fireplace in the lobby and the deck really added a romantic vibe . Overall our stay was great especially since we were able to check in early that was really convenient and appreciated . The only downside I would point out is the lack of friendly customer service the young women who work at the front desk are not friendly whatsoever and they do not smile I don’t know if that’s company policy because none of them smiled . The restaurant for some reason never had coffee when I would go in there don’t know what that’s all about. However the rooms were nice no microwaves though but would love to revisit..

Stayed overnight while visiting our son who stayed here too. This hotel experience was one of the best! This hotel, at pool area overlooks Lake Raleigh. With orange and yellow leaves, I could’ve sat on the back patio, close my eyes, take a deep breath and destress. The lobby area is very welcoming, staffs were friendly and professional. We had a corner room, which was clean and welcoming. Bed very comfortable. The walk/ in shower was huge. This hotel provides shampoo, conditioner, lotion and I loved the scent of the body wash! There’s nearby trails to walk and also the NC state campus to tour. We would definitely stay here again! Note**you must purchase the breakfast with our room reservations because it cannot be purchased separately nor at the front desk. Would definitely stay here again!

I recently stayed at the StateView Hotel by Marriott in Raleigh, and I must say that the property itself is quite impressive. The hotel is new, inviting, and exudes a charming southern atmosphere. The rooms were well-appointed, and the overall ambiance made for a pleasant stay. However, my experience with the front desk staff was far from satisfactory. Upon check-in, the receptionist was notably rude and unhelpful. She didn't provide any details about the property or amenities, and the entire process felt very transactional—she simply took my name, processed my payment, and handed me my room key. This lack of warmth and hospitality was quite disappointing. On a positive note, the bartenders at the hotel were exceptional. Both bartenders went out of their way to provide outstanding customer service, making my evenings at the bar enjoyable and memorable. Their friendly demeanor and attentiveness were highlights of my stay and almost made up for the shortcomings elsewhere. Unfortunately, another significant issue was the lack of hot water during my stay. Despite reporting the problem twice, I never received any follow-up or resolution from the hotel staff. It appears from previous reviews that this is a known issue, which is concerning and unacceptable for a property of this caliber. Overall, I'm giving the StateView Hotel 3 stars. The potential for a 5-star rating is there, but it hinges on resolving the hot water issue and improving the attitude and helpfulness of the front desk staff. The charming property and excellent bartenders deserve recognition, but these positives were overshadowed by the negative aspects of my stay.

My recent stay at the StateView Hotel was disappointing. The main issue during our stay was poor house keeping. We stayed for 3-nights and our room was never cleaned. Tried calling the front desk on the room phone but no one ever answered, so we had to go downstairs to request housekeeping services. The girl at the front desk seemed annoyed about our request and said she would notify housekeeping. We were told two days in a row that someone would come clean the room but each evening when we returned to the hotel, it had not been cleaned. The trash cans in our room were full, the bed had not been made and our towels were never replaced. We went to the front desk a third time to request service and received no explanation for why our room was not cleaned. Instead, we were handed towels from behind the front desk to take upstairs ourselves. On a positive note: the hotel is nice, well kept and quiet. The bar staff were very friendly—but front desk staff were not (specifically the evening/night staff). This is highly unprofessional and not up to the Marriott standard. Will not be back here.

Rooms are very nice and spacious for the king rooms. There is a decent size bathroom with a step-in shower, which was very convenient given we had no children in our party. Would recommend this hotel, especially if you are looking for somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
