About

We serve the South Asian Indian communities in NC, SC, GA, VA, and TN. Our horses are available during the hours of 8am to 8pm and are clothed in traditional Ghori outfits. Their ghori costumes are elaborately decorated in maroon and gold to compliment the groom’s clothing as he rides to the temple on horseback among his friends and family. Our handlers wear Indian style clothing as well. We have beautiful white Percheron horses who have been doing baraats since 2014. They are calm and gentle and accoustomed to the loud and colorful festivities of the baraat. But to ensure the groom’s safety, our horses follow the music, drummer, and the wedding guests. We have a 2-step stool to assist the groom in mounting the horse, which can be seen in some of the photos below of our baraat horses in their wedding costumes along with their handlers. We’ve invested in custom made Ghori costumes and Indian clothing for our handlers to better compliment the wedding photos taken during the baraat procession.

I took my wife here for our 6th anniversary, and I couldn’t have asked for more. Everything was awesome from beginning to end. Our private guide was knowledgeable and kind. The horses were gorgeous. I’d recommend this place to anyone, and I’ll definitely be going back.

Dead Broke Farm provided a wonderful experience for my daughter today and exceeded our expectations. It was her first time walking a horse and riding without the horse being held. She was beaming when I picked her up, said she had a great time and can't wait to go back. I will ride with her next time. Horse trainers Courtney and Cody (sp?) came with wonderful energy and made me feel very comfortable on the phone, at check in and pick up. Very personable down to earth staff. Highly recommend this experience and can't wait to go back. Thank you for accommodating us last minute on a weekday too! Amazing investment! Thanks again, yall! 👊

I had an amazing and peaceful time at Dead Broke Farm!! I went on a really pleasant 2-hour trail ride, and it was such a fun and relaxing experience. I got to ride Darlene, a very sweet and calm horse. Carla and all of the other people here are so friendly and helpful and care so much for these horses! Reserving a ride was really easy, and when the day I had initially scheduled to have my ride got rained out, they were more than happy to reschedule me. The horses here are all great, well-trained, and know the trail by heart. I’m definitely going to be back again for another ride!

A truly amazing experience! While visiting family in Raleigh, I decided to go horseback riding and found Dead Broke Farm. This equestrian ranch was well managed, clean, and offered a fantastic one hour trail ride. The staff, Gigi, Amy, and Ms. Carla was friendly, informative, patient, and very kind. My horse, Rambo, was a Draft horse who was well-behaved and did all the hard work for me! The trail was breathtaking, shaded, and well kept. I loved that Ms. Carla's dog pack joined us on the ride! There were families and a children's party enjoying pony rides and the guest outdoors. The best part is it is tucked away in a very scenic area that was picturesque. If you want to experience a perfect horseback riding experience, then this is the place to go! Price is worth it!!

An Incredible Horseback Riding Experience! Dead Broke Farm blew me away! I did the two-hour private ride and it was nothing short of amazing. Our guide was so friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience comfortable and fun from start to finish. I had the absolute pleasure of riding Tommy, a retired racehorse with such a calm and gentle spirit — perfect for someone like me who’s still learning. The trails were scenic, peaceful, and made me feel completely at ease. This place is perfect for beginners, but I can tell it would also be great for more experienced riders. The horses are clearly well cared for, and the staff takes the time to match you with the right one. If you’re even thinking about going horseback riding go to Dead Broke Farm. You’ll leave with unforgettable memories and maybe even a new love for horses like I did!
