About
We serve the South Asian Indian communities in NC, SC, GA, VA, and TN. Our horses are available during the hours of 8am to 8pm and are clothed in traditional Ghori outfits. Their ghori costumes are elaborately decorated in maroon and gold to compliment the groom’s clothing as he rides to the temple on horseback among his friends and family. Our handlers wear Indian style clothing as well. We have beautiful white Percheron horses who have been doing baraats since 2014. They are calm and gentle and accoustomed to the loud and colorful festivities of the baraat. But to ensure the groom’s safety, our horses follow the music, drummer, and the wedding guests. We have a 2-step stool to assist the groom in mounting the horse, which can be seen in some of the photos below of our baraat horses in their wedding costumes along with their handlers. We’ve invested in custom made Ghori costumes and Indian clothing for our handlers to better compliment the wedding photos taken during the baraat procession.

2 months agoI went on a trail ride with AL and Darlene it was amazing and calming ride darlene did a great job with the ride. I enjoyed it so much I came back a second time. My guide was very helpful gave me some background on horses and his time working there. He didn’t talk me to death just the right amount of conversation to make sure I was comfortable and also asked to make sure I was okay while riding. I definitely left a tip! I can’t wait to start coming more and might consider volunteering!!!

a month agoHIGHLY RECOMMEND!! :D We had the absolute best time at Dead Broke Farm! The staff were so friendly and nice. The horses were super sweet and easy to ride. My family and I had ridden before but were still beginners. I felt very safe while having a blast!

a month agoDead Broke Farms holds a special place in our family's history and traditions. It is a place where cherished memories are made, and I am grateful to have been able to take my children there for their first horse rides with my dad in 2011, It was then that I knew a family tradition was born because the love you feel at this farm goes in the care from the staff, the animals and of course the horses. Each with a personality that makes them unique. They are sweet, kind and loving. Now in 2024 I had the privilege to take my youngest on her first ride and I can say that they have only gotten better, the farm is larger, the horses plentiful and the care has just gotten better. We will definitely be returning.

a month agoGreat place to celebrate a 30th birthday/engagement!! Carla and Angie are so nice, personable, and knowledgeable. My group of 7 really enjoyed our adventure! The horses are gentle and well behaved. One of the best trail rides I’ve ever been on. 12/10 recommend!

2 months agoWe did a group ride with 3 couples to celebrate our anniversaries, Though 3 of us were timid around the horses (1st time riders), we ended up having the best time! Courtney, our trail guide, and the others went over and beyond to pair us up with the right horse. They took their time and were very patient. I was very reluctant, but by the end of the ride, I decided that I would definitely do it again. It was such fun! A beautiful area to ride horses through. I would highly recommend Dead Broke Farm for anyone wanting to experience horseback riding, especially for the first time. Even the seasoned riders among us enjoyed themselves. A Must Do when in Raleigh!!
