Facilities and Capacity Details
With the gorgeous aerial views of Durham, the University Club is a beautiful place for a wedding ceremony. It has multiple event rooms and a swanky, newly-renovated bar. That means it is conducive to smaller Durham wedding events such as bridal showers and rehearsal dinners. But it is also a great space for a large wedding. Up to 200 guests can take over the entire club and move throughout the space during the event.
Our venue offers a unique and elegant touch to any ceremony and reception. As Durham’s tallest building, our stunning views do not disappoint.

4 months agoWhat an A-MAZING place to celebrate with friends and family! The meal service was very nice (no long wait serving around 50 people). The food was excellent, Braised Short Ribs, Salmon with tasty Pesto based sauce, red velvet cake, salad, and rolls. The room setting was nice and spaced perfectly for seating and walking around the room. Also, it was an excellent space for dancing once the tables were moved to the perimeter. The views over the city of Durham from the tower are exquisite and show the growth in the city. I lived in the city for 13 years and several years only 5 minutes away and never had the experience. If I lived here now, I would definitely have a membership. I highly recommend this location for dinner, meetings, and events!

a month agoWe celebrated our rehearsal dinner here, and it truly was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was absolutely delightful, with every dish crafted to perfection, making it a true feast for the senses. The stunning views surrounding us only added to the magic of the evening, creating a beautiful backdrop that we’ll always cherish. Each moment felt special, shared with our loved ones, and we couldn’t have asked for a better wine selection to complement the meal. It was the perfect way to kick off our wedding festivities, filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories. We couldn't have imagined a more perfect setting for such a significant occasion!

4 months agoI had the pleasure of hosting my birthday party here last Saturday (August 10th). Eleanor was amazing in helping me from choosing the appropriate space to the menu! The food was delicious, the server and bartender were super friendly and on point. Kelly was awesome in making sure all was well and assisting in hanging my birthday banner! And you know the view of was spectacular! All of my family and friends truly loved the atmosphere. Thank you for being warm and friendly.

4 months agoWe were here for an annual meeting that is usually lengthy. The food was actually better than it normally is, so that was plus. The staff who brought the food and beverages and bussed the tables were wonderful. The chairs, which look nice, have a straight back with no support for the lower back. They quickly went from uncomfortable to painful for a two plus hour gathering. When I went to use the restroom, the seat on the handicapped one had feces on it, and the others didn't look good either. I had to go to another floor where they were all spotless. Wouldn't you think the bathroom would be checked before an event? The icing, and not in a good way, was an employee who stood right outside the room, which doesn't have a door, talking so loudly on her phone that we couldn't hear the main speaker. When my spouse went to ask her to please lower her voice, she said to the caller that someone just complained they couldn't hear the speaker. How's that for being even ruder? These meetings are held twice a year, and it's important for us to attend, but we're considering no longer going to due to poor quality of the seating and not being able to hear the information we're there for because an employee thinks her private phone call is more important.
