Stepping into Anjappar Chetinad in Cary is like taking a fragrant journey to the heart of Tamil Nadu. . Our recent lunch visit, guided by the excellent recommendations of our server Anthony, certainly delivered on that promise. First to arrive was the Vanjaram Fish Veruval, and SpicyAndhraPaneer both excellent presentations and a touch spicy. The mains were Chicken Chetinad with flakey paratha a perfect combination. If you’re in Cary and craving a genuine and flavorful Chetinad experience, Anjappar is a must-visit. And if you're lucky enough to have Anthony as your server, you're in for a truly exceptional meal.

I had a good dining experience. The appetizers were fantastic. Gobi Manchurian was crispy and saucy. Chicken lollipops were perfectly spiced and juicy. Malabar parotta paired with Chettinad chicken curry worked beautifully. The curry had right level of spices and heat. Vegetable Biryani was aromatic and delicious. However I didn’t like chicken 65 biryani as they have tried to stuff the bowl with more dry chicken 65 and less rice. The biryani didn’t match the flavor I was hoping for.

Great crowded place. The ambience is okay , and the food is very tasty. Every place has its positive and negative points. This place attracts a lot of people because of its fresh and tasty food. Because of crowd expect very slow service. Food ets to plate is approx 30 mins. Also, if you need a refill, you need to wait for another 20 mins. So overall, we must visit the place for tasty food.

Food wasn’t upto the mark at all. I never ever thought I would have such a bad experience at Anjappar when it comes to food. I ordered chicken biryani, chettinad chicken and kothu parotta. They didn’t add enough salt, it was too much oily and tasteless.

Fantastic food. My new favorite Indian place. My new favorite Indian restaurant. Strong flavors. And if you tell them extra spicy, they’ll actually make it decently spicy. We were the only white people there. Every single other person was Indian. I can’t wait to go back. The service is attentive and friendly. We’re very familiar with Indian food (although there were lots of new dishes for us on their enormous menu), but of course they don’t know that, and did a great job attempting to explain things and give suggestions. I usually take and post good pictures but the first dish was so good I forgot! I tried really hard to think of something to improve, and the only thing I can think of is that the papadum appetizer isn’t as good. It didn’t taste fresh. But tbh, the rest of the food is so amazing (I have high standards for Indian) that it’s not a big deal. Just something small they could improve. :)
