About

Indian food for us is almost like eating a slice of pizza on the streets of New York City. We eat Indian food three times a day, every day. There is no planning, no reservation necessary to eat our meals. We desired to present the same experience for our customers, real, homestyle cooked Indian food in a fast and casual environment. We want our guests to be able to decide to eat Chicken Tikka Masala just as fast and casually as they would a burger!

We offer a unique dining experience for our customers. Enjoy fresh and spicy Indian food in a casual and comfortable atmosphere.

All our curries are gluten free and nut free. We buy our produce from the local Farmers Market as much as possible.

Our food is from Northeast region of India, particular to the state of Bihar. We use many health beneficial spices and herbs in our cooking. The varieties of herbs and spices are customarily the same but their combination and the amounts we use are different for each dish. The varying combination of spices and the different techniques in which we cook gives distinctiveness to each dish.

Above all, we use a great deal of fresh vegetables and herbs, purchased from the local farmers market, which gives our food its individual flavors.

We serve rice and Roghani Naan, salad and cilantro chutney with majority of our meals. Roghani Naan is not tandoori naan and it is not quite a pita bread. It is a round yeast bread that falls between a traditional Tandoori Naan and a pita bread.

We offer non- vegetarian and vegetarian meals including many vegan options as well. We offer fresh, homemade desserts, all of which are made with cream cheese icing

We did ourselves a disservice by waiting so long to visit this quaint delight. A few weeks ago a group of us went to an escape room and planned to go here afterwards, except that it was closed on that day. Upon first entering the restaurant there is an adjustment of processes. You encounter 3 large screen menus to the left, glowy subdued lighting to the right and above and large blue and green balloons suspended from the ceiling. Against the walls are archways of lighted contours and in the air the wafting aroma of the goodness to come. Once you decide what you want from the menu approach the bar/ordering counter and someone promptly takes your order. Take your seat and prepare for the envelopment of your tastebuds. Two items: butter chicken and lamb saag, two words unparalleled deliciousness. Oh yeah, let me not forget the chickpea soup, superfantastico, I honestly could eat it as an independent meal all by itself. Of course desserts remain, lots to choose from but my partner chose the Chai tea, she said it was aromatically delicious. The owner possibly the manager visited our table at the end to ask how we enjoyed the food and experience, of course we shared this sentiment. Everyone was kind, attentive and the entire encounter was delightful and therapeutic. Great job Cilantro! Will be back very soon

I loved Cilantro its an awesome place with incredible authentic Indian fare. Yesterday was my first visit with my brother I had the Lamb Briyani and he had the Samosa Chat along with mango lassis. The food was so good, lamb was very tender and tasty with the rice and mint yogurt raita. The cilantro chutney was so fresh. Mango lassis sweet and refreshing. The service was top notch with the staff super friendly and accommodating. They also have extremely beautiful and tasty desserts with some slices of cheesecake and mostly these boxed cakes in their own plastic container about 6×6 in. They're visually stunning and taste even better I absolutely cannot reccommend this place enough I will be coming back soon. 10/10. Let me also comment on the comfortable atmosphere being contemporary in decor but also very cozy. Oh, and the prices are very affordable for the quality.

The decor inside was beautiful, I loved all the quotes on the walls. Amazing food! We had the eggs, vegetable samosas, butter salmon and butter chicken. Everything was delightful, especially the sauces! We took home some tiramisu cakes to try later and they were also tasty, made with chai tea instead of coffee, a unique twist. It’s family owned, one son was at the counter taking orders, and I assume it was his father walking around, chatting with customers and checking on how everything was tasting and if anything was needed. Amazing experience, will certainly come back for more.

My boyfriend and I make this a must-stop every time we’re in Raleigh. The food is incredible, but the service truly takes it to another level! Special shoutout to Gibbs—he’s incredibly kind, easy to talk to, and so helpful when it comes to answering questions. I didn’t catch the name of the gentleman who checks in on guests to make sure everyone is happy with their food and experience, but he was wonderful as well. If you’re on the fence about coming here, don’t hesitate—you won’t regret it!
